if it wasn't any cards with insufficient power should be beeping at you. At least the Nvidia cards do that whne no power.
Don't forget with SLI or crossfire you must enable it in the BIOS as well AFAIK.
Read the mobo manual for this.

It looks correct

Going on memory. with Nvdia and ATI Catalyst, apart from checking what Ali mentioned, you have a tick box to enable SLI or Crossfire, or at least u did with the older versions
