I would say it is more like BF2 than COD, but you can shoot through walls a little and trees fall over when you hit them with HMGs off vehicles and you can blow through walls. I took out a HMG mounted in a window on the second floor of a buliding with an RPG... it desimated half the building as well.
There are a few lamers sitting back with sniper kits, they are very hard to spot.

Been playing the BETA a bit, it's definitely the bastard child of COD players who couldn't quite grasp BF2. I'm finding it hard to work out how much is latency and how much might be my need to update my processor. Close range an entire magazine might not kill an enemy, other times 3 shots.

I kind of wish there was more classes. I feel once latency is sorted out the Recon class will be very OP. You can sit back and very easily take out people without much of a worry of others shooting back. The bullet drop makes very little difference. The fact Recon has the C4 is what makes it seem OP. In my mind they should be primarily anti-infantry, the ability to take out tanks is just a little much. They even get the mortar strike too, geeze. Give the mortar to medics I think.

Anyhow, can't wait for more patching.

Interesting comments. I'm hoping the negatives are due to the beta development stage and "all will be well"

One would hope that games get progressively better and the developers learn from their mistakes but sounds like this has its fair share already. Remember BF2 was buggy early on so that's probably all it is and the full release won't have these problems. Looks like it will be a resource hungry game as well.
Looking forward to it anyway

Ok there should be four EAPlay BC2 servers up and running today at 144.140.154.113. Hope to jump on one of them tonight.

Um early on? I thought it was buggy all the way through to about 1.4.

Ok time for a few tweaks.
If you add +fullproc to the launch command options it is supposed to make the game use all processors.
Can't see through the mounted gun armour plate.
Open Documents\BFBC2\settings.ini in notepad and change Fov=xx to somewhere between 65 and 100, I am using 85 atm so
Fov=85
Add the line to the bottom of the existing lines if it is not present.
While settings.ini is open if you find the bloom and stuff is too much then
Bloom=false disables it.
If your vid card is struggling or you don't like dx10/11 effects then change DxVersion=Auto to DxVersion=9

Just wondering if the way Ali suggested adding servers to favouries by eding a file in beta will work for the current version. I can't find the details...sheesh

Dammy,
I added the server in favourites, but it took about 5 mins idling time before it worked. So went and had a coffee and it had finished and remained in favourites.
