You install the core mod first and then the core maps. To state the obvious, BF2 has to be installed and patched. Once it's all installed, you have to remember gamespy shut down ages ago. You have to download/install bf2hub. There's info in the forum about all this.
Also keep in mind that your virus check/security could be playing havoc with the installation of AIX ?

AIX is a BF2 mod. Allows co-op mode for a single player or a full server. It's great fun. Best weapons ever, some BF2 maps and a lot of different ones
