I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.

"Why?" my daughter asked.

"Because it's been laying outside, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Wow! How do you know all this stuff?"

"Uh," I was thinking quickly, "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."

"Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face and joy in my heart.

I know the Avast newsgroup shield totally breaks usenet as it tries to scan every single byte, causing Usenet clients to keep retrying the same files over and over again.

Ye avast doesn't pop anything up so probably to do with the scan incoming or outgoing files settings.

Avast wouldn't let us do co-op and kept dropping us to desktop in Multiplayer. Turned it off... no problems.
(Freeware version)

yer, running that but it doesn't pop up and say it's being blocked. Tried without the windows firewall and got the same shit. Was working fine when first installed without any crashes. Will try making exceptions for Avast or just close it and see if that works.

Try blowing the dust and crap out of it, espec the vid card cooler. The ducted VGA coolers are a bugger for getting blocked. otherwise try reseating the ram and videocard, especially as the PC has been transported recently.

pete, managed to find the LD AIX server but it is in vanilla conquest mode, not AIX coop. So BF2cc daemon is probably nor running either.
