Ok gave in and cloned my old install to the new M.2 SSD. So far everything works, still would have like a nice clean install with no left over crap. So far vent and BF2 seem to work.

Well done a Ghetto fix up. Found a skt 1150 mobo that works till my new bits arrive. Only matx though so can't connect all my hdds, PCI- TV tuner and Xonar audio card, but at least I will be able to game.

Motherboard seems rooted, again. Second Asrock Z87 extreme4 to die. So looks like an upgrade is in order. At least I still have the notebook to do some internet stuff. No gaming on it though, not enough grunt.
